I’m so sick of quatrains
They’re such a chore to write
I’ll give up soon
And restart with haiku some night
I forgot to post again
Sleep deprivation will do that
Or maybe it’s that I don’t like quatrain
Haiku is a better format

What a surreal year
..
It’s been quite a year. I started this year as a bored high school senior, and now I’m finishing it as a college freshman who has completed her first semester and who can play the ukulele now (pretty well, if I may say so myself) and who has seen Vampire Weekend live and who genuinely looks forward to writing a silly little piece of poetry every day. Thank you all for reading my haikus over this past year, whether you were a daily reader or you dropped by my blog sporadically or you only read about 4 syllables before you were swept away by something else on the internet. I hope you will stay tuned for My Life in Quatrains in 2013.
Happy New Year! I wish you all the best in 2013!

The year approaches its end
Chilled, covered in snow

I’m toying with the idea of writing a quatrain a day in 2013. Thoughts?

And thank goodness that they were
We still get Christmas
